Pattern:
Work I-cord as follows
Cast on three stitches
Knit
Row 2: Slide the knitted stitches to the other end of the dp needle and knit
Row 3: Slide the stitches back to the other end of the dp needles and knit.
Continue in this fashion until the cord is long enough to cover the can. Cast off and weave in ends.
Put glue on can covering it well. Wrap cord around can until the can
is covered. Cut a circle of wrapping paper to match and glue to bottom
of can or a piece of felt can be used for this purpose. On the lid of the
can lay ribbon on it and glue in place so that the whole lid is covered.
It can be done in any pattern you like, crisscrossing or just straight
across the lid.
Put a big bow on top gluing in place. Fill can with candy or cookies
for a nice gift.
