Vine Lace Stitch Pattern
Rows 1 and 3: Purl
Row 2:   k 3, *yo, k 2, ssk, k2 tog, k2, yo, k1*, k1
Row 4:  k 2, *yo, k 2, ssk, k2 tog, k2, yo, k1*, k2

Work for about 8 inches finishing on last row of pattern
Then decrease for top:
Next row :  k1 *k 2, k 2 tog* repeat across, sl 1 p
Next row:   k1 *p 2, p 2 tog* repeat across, sl 1 p
Repeat these two rows until you have about 24 stitches on the needles.
Next row:  k1 * k2 tog* repeat across, sl 1 p
Next row:  k1 * p2 tog* repeat across, sl 1 p

You should have about 6-8 stitches left.   Leaving stitches on needles, cut the yarn leaving a length of about 6 inches.  Thread through the sts pulling together to form the top of the cozy.

Leaving a 5 inch opening, sew up the side seam from top down and join from the bottom up.

I also add a row of SC (UK DC) on the bottom of the cozy and around the edge opening.
