Aunt Rhodie's Sea Salt Body Scrub

Ingredients:
Coarse Sea Salt
Oil (see below)
Essential Oils (found in your local health food store)

Basic Recipe:
Pour Coarse Sea Salt into a container that seals well (mason jars work well), filling about 3/4 of the jar.

Mix oil with your choice of scent (about 10 drops per cup of oil) and pour into the jar, about an inch over level of the salt. Stir with a chopstick, seal and walk away for a while.

Since you've been smelling the essential oils while you were mixing this up, you won't be able to 'smell test' it until your nose clears up. Come back later, open up the jar and 'smell test' again.  Adjust smell if  it's too weak. If it's too strong, pour off some of the oil and replace with unscented oil (I have yet to make this combo too strong).
You may make this as oily or as grainy as you prefer by adding or reducing the amount of oil.

To Use:
After you wash, step out of the stream of your shower (better yet, turn off the water) scoop up about a tablespoon or two of the oily salt and rub vigorously onto your arms and legs, moving in long strokes on your limbs, circular strokes on your joints (elbows, knees), working up from the feet and hands toward your heart. Step back into the stream of the shower and rinse this concoction off yourself. Now towel dry. You'll notice that your skin is glowing and
smooth.  If you feel too oily, rinse longer or start with a 'grainy mix' with less oil in your jar.

Oils:
I've used sesame oil, apricot kernel oil, canola oil, safflower oil and and a blend of any and all of these with much success. I purchase these oils at my health food store.

Scents:
This is totally a personal signature for anyone trying this recipe.
I'll let you know what I've done that I like-

-lavender - for lavendar lovers
-rosemary, mint and lemon - my neighbor cleared her sinuses with this one when she had a cold and said it really helped her feel better.
-rosemary and sweet orange oil

From my Aromatherapy Book, I intend to try the following:
Good Morning - 2 drops ginger, 3 drops rosemary, 4 drops peppermint
Muscle Relief - 2 drops rosemary, 2 drops eucalyptus, 4 drops lavender
TGIF - 5 drops lavender, 3 drops grapefruit

'ADD-INs' - In one jar that was very well received, I had added minced lavender leaves I snipped from my garden.  This fine mince added colored flecks to the salt, and were fine enough to rinse down the drain.  I plan to do this with fresh rosemary as well.
