Claret and Gold
US size three needles
Size:
approx 8" wide by 66"-72" long
Pattern:
Cast on 40 sts in Dark Burgundy
Next row: *k1, make 1 by backward loop over right hand needle.
repeat from *, ending with Make 1 (80 stitches)
Next row: *k1, wool forward, slip 1 as if to purl; repeat from * to end
Repeat this last row until you have 4" of Dark Burgundy.
Attach Goldenrod; repeat last row until you have another 4" knitted.
Alternate between 4" horizontal stripes of Goldenrod and Burgundy in double knitting until you have a 5.5-6" long scarf.
Attach fringe
Gauge: approx 4 stitches per inch
Dimensions of scarf: about 5.5" wide, 5-6' feet long
Pattern:
With burgundy, cast on 20 stitches
Next row: *K1, make 1 by backward loop over right hand needle. Repeat
from * across (40 stitches).
Next Row: *k1, wool forward slip 1 as if to purl, repeat from
* to end of row.
Repeat this last row for 4" (approx 20 rows).
Attach gold, continue in established pattern for 4".
Continue thusly, alternating 4" blocks of burgundy and gold in established
pattern.
To Finish:
k2 tog, rep from * to end of row. Cast off.
Weave in ends. Attach fringe
