Someone asked recently about an idea for wrist warmers. I like to CO the same number of stitches as for a mitten cuff and K2, P2 on two needles. When it is long enough to cover my wrist and up to the knuckles (covering the palm and hand - about 5 to 6 inches?), I cast off.
Join the seam except for a 1 to 2 inch segment where your thumb can peek through. These help keep my hands warm, even when I type, play piano or knit! They also work under larger mitts or over gloves for extra warmth.
