Top-Down dress for Barbie

Cast on 45 stitches. Join into round. K1,P1 for 2 inches.

Change to sockinette stitch. * Inc 6 sts, evenly spaced, on next round. K 1 rnd.*
Repeat between ** twice. Sockinette stitch until you run out of yarn or like the length. Bind off.

Note- it's a good idea to do the last 4 rnds in K2P2 ribbing. It makes a nice hem without much fuss, and keeps the skirt edge flat.

Enjoy, feel free to share as you please. It's just fun little unvention.

notes:OK gang, I got hooked on knitting for Barbie as the perfect use for that leftover sock yarn. I used some patterns from the 'net and next thing I knew,I was buying Nikki Epstein's book and searching for a specialty fiber "ArcticRays" (found a bunch of them at my local cross-stitch store). This is TOOmuch fun!

But since my whole goal was to knit up my leftover sock yarns, I quickly found myself with even smaller bits left over from socks-then Barbie. When we have a favorite yarn and want to use every little bit of it in our socks, we knit the socks from the toe up, so we can keep knitting till we run out of yarn. Barbie patterns seem to be hem-up. Hmmmmmmmmm. I needed a
top-down Barbie pattern so I could keep on knitting till I ran out of yarn.
