Broken Rib Baby Blanket

REVISED 9/4/07 (Changes/additions in bold)

Size:

Pattern is written for baby-sized blanket, sized 24"x30". Increase size by adding
stitches in multiples of 4.

Material: Yarn and gauge: I used 3 strands of sport weight Consoshocken Softball
(100% cotton), on size 9 needles.
Gauge: 4 sts/in.

With size 9 needles, cast on 96 sts.

Knit 6 rows (or, 3 garter ridges).

Begin Pattern:
row 1: K4, *k2, p2*, repeat ** to last 4 sts on needle, K4.
row 2: K4, *p2, k2*, repeat ** to last 4 sts, k4.
row 3: k across.
row 4: k across.

Repeat rows 1-4. until blanket is within one inch of the desired length.
(Remember, cotton yarn will shrink in length, so knit longer to
compensate for this.)

Knit 6 rows (final 3 garter ridges).
Bind off loosely.

This pattern is for personal and gift/charity use only--not for profit.
