Last weekend I went to several Stationery Stores to look at some of the things that were mentioned in the last couple of weeks on the List concerning circs organizers. Some things were not available, others were too heavy to cart around in my knitting bag or store here in my small knitting/Computer room.
So I let it sit for a bit, and now I have mine finished. I used Hefty one Zip Gallon Size freezer bags. There are 25 in a box and cost 2.50. I used half of them.
First Step: Sort all the circs and put them in piles according to size. Each Hefty Bag has room without folding them so many times, for all different sizes and lenghts. I was so thrilled when I realized I did not have to make labels on my computer for this, the bags have the labels 5x3 inches. Enough room to write with pen all the lenghts and the one size for each bag. So now I realize that I need the reinforce this bag/page a little. So I cut scrapbooking paper, which is nice and sturdy, much better quality then construction paper, and inserted one sheet in each bag/page. So now I am playing with colors. This paper comes in a lot of beautiful colors. Each page is different. I added all my needles and now I have to punch holes in these pages, took my three hole punch, but it did not work, so I started with my one hole, punch marked the area precisely evenly spaced, punched three single holes in each page, reinforced both sides with Reinforcement Labels. Wrote all the sizes out on the Labels of the pages, and then I took a beautiful Ribbon and laced it through the holes as in a soft cover book fashion. The tie of the ribbon is on top, the blue Zippers of the Hefty Bags are on the right hand side, the holes on the left look so unique with the reinforcement labels on them and short of being in a commercial binder, this thing has a life of it's own. It is so sturdy because once it is zipped, there is no way any needles can ever fall out, ever, unless I leave it unzipped. The Ribbon is knotted on both sides and tied in front, and I know it will do the job, perfectly, Voila.
