Cast on 22 - 25 sts (leave a tail on when casting on as this tail can
be used to sew up the heel - Yes this cast on is the heel)
Garter st for 1 3/4 - 2" (then the ankle opening will be 3 1/2" to 4"
in diameter)
bind off 5 sts, continue to end of row
repeat last row so that you have cast off a total of 10 sts
garter st on remaining 12 - 15 sts for total of 3" - 4"
last row: *K1, K2 tog* (K1, if needed)
do not bind off - simply cut off about 15" of yarn and pull through
(this last part is the toe)
with the remaining section of the yarn, sew up the top
Yarn: worsted weight
Needles: 6 or 7
note: works best if you start w/ 24 sts, and cast off to 14. The
suggestion for 22 was primarily for small newborns.
