AN EXPEDIENT AND INEXPENSIVE WAY TO ORGANIZE CIRCULAR KNITTING NEEDLES
Ingredients:
1.> One hard-covered 9x12 notebook at least 1" thick, but could be
thicker--not the floppy plastic ones; they are useless
2> a box of heaviest weight Zip-lock bags that are 11 or so inches wide. If
they have a white labeling spot on them, so much the better
Tools:
3 hole punch, sewing machine. Black permanent marking pen, labels for the
notebook cover.
Instructions: You are going to fold and machine stitch the bottoms of the
bag to fit the notebook, using a long stitch, 6 or 8 to the inchs. I made 2
rows of stitching, one on the edge and one around 1 1/2 inches in, and
hole-punched in that reinforced strip to mount the bags in the notebook,
with the zipper facing the outer side of the book.
Make and label one bag for each size needles plus one for TOOLS like stitch
markers, etc. Keep a needle size measure in there permanently.
Dump all your needles on the table, measure the size and length of each
needle then bag them appropriately, keeping a tally of what you have on the
bag label.
Enjoy your feeling of organization!
