16" circular needle (I used size 8 US). One ball double knit wool, or you
could use a few colors and do a fairisle design. I also knit in elastic in
the same color.

CO 82 stitches (or enough to complete 18" all around, depends on your gauge
and yarn). Knit and knit and knit (st st) until piece measures 16", bind off.
With right side facing, double it over and sew together. This makes a double
thickness which is important for skiing. Then.... go skiing!
