                TWIST STITCH SKI MASK

Sizes:  Adult small (Adult medium)

Materials:  About 4 oz. (5.5 oz.) worsted weight yarn (preferably wool, if 
you're at all serious about this), and #8 needles

Gauge:  5 sts = 1" when stretched

Cast on 88 (92) sts.

Rows 1, 2 & 3:  K2, p2, repeat across row.
Row 4:  (right side) K2 tog, but leave sts on left hand needle.  Insert 
rt hand needle between the 2 sts just knit together, and K the first st 
again.  Then sl both sts from needle tog.  P2, and repeat across row.

Repeat these four rows for 10" or to desired length.

Face opening:  (Wrong side) Rib across 26 sts, bind off next 36 (40) sts, 
rib to end of row.  Following row:  Rib to opening, CO 36 (40) sts, rib 
to end of row.

Work even until entire piece measures 16 1/2" from beginning.  End with 
wrong side row.

Crown:  Change to stockinette st.  1st row:  K2 tog, K4.  Repeat across, 
ending K2 tog, K2 for small, K2 tog for medium.

2nd & 4th rows:  P across

3rd row:  K2, K2 tog.  Repeat across, ending K2, K3 tog for small size.

5th row:  K2 tog across.  (For medium, K last st.)

Cut yarn, leaving 20" tail.  Draw yarn through remaining sts on needle, 
sew back.
