Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup
1 1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
Method:
Please be careful as the mixture will be very hot from the microwave.
In 8-cup glass measure or heavy glass casserole, combine sugar and corn syrup.
Microwave, uncovered, at high for 4 minutes. Stir in nuts and microwave at high for 3 to 5 minutes, or until mixture is light brown.
Quickly stir in butter, vanilla, and baking soda until light and foamy.
Spread as thinly as possible on lightly-buttered baking sheet.
Let cool about 1 hour, then break into pieces. Store in air-tight container.
Makes about 1 pound.
