Every holiday season I make up about 12 dozen cookies for gifts to family and friends. Here are two of the many recipes I love:
Method:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Mix sugars, margarine, shortening, eggs,
and vanilla. Mix until well creamed and fluffy. Stir in flour, baking soda,
and salt. Blend well. Add nuts if desired.
Shape about 1 tbsp of dough around each chocolate kiss.
Place about 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake until light brown, about 8-10 minutes (I baked them 7 minutes).
Cool. Makes 5 dozen.
I also have used Rolo caramels instead of kisses.
Method:
Mix together dry ingredients - salt, baking powder, flour and dry pudding
in a small bowl.
In a bigger bowl mix the wet ingredients - oil, eggs and add sugar. Add dry mix to to wet mix. When thoroughly mixed, add M&M's.
Pour into a lightly greased 10x13" pan.
Bake for 25-30 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool and cut into bars.
I have also substituted any color M&M's and vanilla or chocolate pudding mix.
