Crumble a store-bought dark fruitcake into a large bowl. One without large cherries would be best.
Moisten with sherry, brandy or orange juice and mix. The mixture needs to be just moist enough to cling together.
Form into balls (just smaller than ping-pong size, enough for about a mouthful or two bites) with slightly flattened top and bottom
Melt some white chocolate - [I used a 250gm (~8 oz) bar for an 800 gm (just over 1 1/2 lbs) cake and that was more than enough] and spoon a little bit onto the top of each fruit cake ball. It should look like the top of an iced plum pudding. Place a quarter of a glace cherry on the top.
Refrigerate until set and then eat!
