Sis's Pumpkin Squares

Ingredients:
1 box white cake mix (or yellow but see note)
1/2 cup butter - melted
1 egg - beaten
1 large can of pumpkin (29 oz.)
2/3 cup evaporated milk
2/3 cup sugar
3 eggs - beaten
1 T cinnamon
1/2 cup nuts - chopped
1/4 cup sugar
1 teasp. cinnamon
2 T butter - melted

Method:
Reserve 1 cup of the dry cake mix.

Bottom:
Take 1/2 cup of melted butter, 1 beaten egg and remainder of the dry cake, mix together well and press into the bottom of your Pyrex 9 x 13 baking dish (3 qt. size).

Filling:
Take 3 beaten eggs, the can of evaporated milk, the can of pumpkin, 2/3 cup sugar and 1 T. cinnamon, combine and pour over the bottom.

Topping:
Crumble together the reserved 1 cup of dry cake mix, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1/2 cup chopped nuts, 1/4 cup sugar and 2 T. melted butter. Sprinkle over the filling.

Bake:
350F for about 45 min. or until a knife inserted near the middle comes out clean. Remember to make sure that the bottom doesn't burn. (Yellow cake mix can be used but it seems to over-power the taste of the pumpkin.)
