Roll Brim Infant Hat

The top of the hat is gathered because how rapidly I did the reductions. I personally think that it is very cute. It takes less than 1 skein of yarn and is a great way to use the left over yarn after
you finish a baby blanket.

Materials:
Yarn: Jiffy from Lion Pride
I used US size 6 double pointed needles to get gauge.

Gauge:
3.5 stitches per inch

Pattern:
Cast on 60 stitches join to form a circle. Mark your starting point

Knit 8 rows to make the rolled brim

Knit 3 rows of K1, P1 ribbing to stop the brim from rolling. You may wish to change needles to double points 2 sizes smaller for a nice tight ribbing.

Knit a further 3 inches to make the body of the hat.

Place a marker every 10 stitches on the last row.

For Experienced Knitters:
K2tog before each marker and SSK after each marker. Repeat this on each row until you have 12 stitches left. Next row: K2tog until the end. You will have 6 stitches on the needles.

Step by Step for Less Experienced Knitters
Row 1: Slip marker * SSK, K6, K2tog slip marker* Repeat to end of row.

Row 2: *SSK, K4, K2tog slip marker* Repeat to end of row

Row 3: *SSK, K2, K2tog slip marker* Repeat to end of row

Row 4: *SSK, K2tog* Repeat to end of row

Row 5: K2tog until end of row you should have 6 stitches on the needles.

Finishing:
Cut a long tail thread a yarn needle and run it through the 6 loops, pull tight and weave the end on the inside of the hat. Make a Pom Pom for the top of the hat and attach.
