I have been very busy with my knitting. I have made at least 50 Beanie Baby sweaters, which have been selling like crazy to people I work with. I was inspired by the Oxfam Charity sweater.
I used size 6 needles and dk or worsted weight yarn.
Cast on approximately 20 stitches, garter stitch 4 rows, stockinette
about 10 rows, cast on 5 stitches each end of needle for sleeves, garter
stitch about 6 ridges. In the middle of the next row cast off about 8 stitches
for neck, next row cast on same number. Then do the front same as
back. Sew up the side seams and you have a sweater any Beanie
would be proud to wear. They are not fussy. I have made intarsia hearts
on a Valentino sweater, purple rose on Princess', green shamrock on Erin's.
Just let your imagination go. These sales have been supporting my newly
acquired Beanie habit.
