I took some ribbon that I had on hand and, using a size 10 needle, I
c.o. one stitch.
I k1,yo,k1 in that st and then did each subsequent row k1, yo, k to
end til I had 16 sts.
At that point I changed to k1, yo, k2 tog, k to the end of the row,
in order to stay at 16 sts and to keep the holes along the edges for decoration.
I knitted til the piece was ~30 inches long then put it on a holder
and made another one to match. Then I joined the two halves together (I
drew a loop of one piece through a loop on the other until all sts were
looped up).
Voila...a long, thin, decorative scarf...elegant, quick, and from my
stash.
