Cast on a multiple of 3 + 2 stitches (for example, 26 or 29) to get
the width you want.
knit 3 rows
next row: *k1, k2tog, yo* across, end k2.
knit 6 rows
repeat pattern row and garter rows until the cloth is long enough.
End with a pattern row.
knit 3 rows
cast off
