This 2-layer headband has a simple snowflake pattern worked with glow-in-the-dark fibers for an interesting nighttime effect. It will keep the ears warm too.

Materials:
Main color (MC): 2 oz. Red Heart baby sport yarn, 100% acrylic.
Contrasting color (CC): 20 yd. Nightlights, glow- in-the-dark, 100%
nylon fiber. (You can substitute sport yarn for a non-glow headband.)
Needles: US #4 straight needles,
tapestry needle for finishing.
Gauge:
5 sts = 1" (not critical)
Finished Size:
width: 2 1/2", circumference: 18 1/2"
Abbreviations:
st/sts = stitch/stitches
k = knit
p = purl
yo = yarn over
k2tog = knit 2 sts together
st-st = stockinette stitch
Pattern:
Cast on 97 sts.
Work k1, p1 ribbing over first and last 18 sts for entire piece.
Over center 61 sts, work 8 rows st-st, ending p row.
Next row, eyelet row: k1, * yo, k2tog, repeat from *.
Work 3 rows st-st.
Work pattern over next 9 rows.
Work 3 rows st-st. Repeat eyelet row.
Work 7 rows st-st, ending p row.
Making Up:
Bind off in k over center 61 sts and in rib over first and last 18
sts. Weave in loose ends of CC.
Sew short edges together. Fold on eyelet rows with wrong sides together
and sew long edges together from right side being careful to leave some
stretch in the ribbing section.
