Knit 2 rows and bind off.
The first two bookmarks I did in this style were in red crochet cotton
that I had strung pearl beads on for another project. Rather than
take the pearls off, I decided to knit the beads into a couple of rows
at the top of the bookmark. This would give it a little added weight, and
stick out of the book. After I blocked and dried the first one, I starched
and ironed it.
Oops. Plastic pearls don’t like to be ironed.
The next test is whether the red thread will bleed onto pages.
I think the next bookmark will be in white thread, maybe with a sewing
thread carried along with glass beads for decoration.
