Materials:
3 balls Bernat Crochet Cotton (this will make two hot pads)
Knitting Needles Size 7
Crochet Hook Size I

Cast on 25 Stitches.
Knit until the piece is square, about 21 ridges.
Bind Off, but do not fasten off.
With I crochet hook, insert in remaining loop,
chain 8, attach to bottom of loop.  Fasten off.  Work in threads.

Diagonal Garter St Hotpad

Materials: 3 balls Bernat Crochet Cotton (this will make two hot pads)
Knitting Needles Size 7
Crochet Hook Size I

Cast on 3 Stitches.
Row 1: Knit across.
Row 2: Inc (knit in front and back of stitch), knit to last stitch, Inc.
Repeat these two rows until there are 35 stitches on needles.
Knit next 2 rows even.
Dec Row 1: Slip 1, knit 1, PSSO, knit to last 2 stitches, K 2tog.
Dec Row 2: Knit across.
Repeat these 2 rows until 3 stitches remain.  Slip 1, k 2tog, PSSO. Do not fasten off.

With I crochet hook, insert in remaining loop, chain 8, attach to bottom of loop. Fasten off.
Work in threads.
