I have found that another lister's advice to place markers between each pattern repeat helps (I use embroidery floss), even if they are a pain with the yo's. And, I try to inspect the pattern after every 4 rows to keep from having to rip back too far!
(multiple of 7 + 2 selvedge stitches)
Row 1: Selvedge st, *k2, sl 1, k2 tog, psso, k2, yo* (repeat between *s), selvedge st.
Row 2: Selvedge st, *p6, yo* (repeat between *s), selvedge st.
It really is beautiful when you get those psso's to line up!
