Aunt Judy's Scarf

Materials:
3 balls Indiecita worsted weight alpaca (50 gms = 102 yard)
Needles: size 8US

Gauge:
4 st/inch in pattern, slightly stretched

Pattern:
Cast on 33 stitches.

Row 1: If you use the long-tailed cast-on, or another one that provides the first knit row, count that as row 1. Otherwise, knit across. This will be the right side.
Row 2: K1, P1 across, ending K1
Rows 3, 5, 7, 9: Knit across
Rows 4, 6, 8, 10: Repeat row 2
Row 11: K1, *yo, K2 tog, repeat from *, end K2 tog.
Row 12: K1, P1 across, ending K1.

Repeat rows 1-12 until you run out of yarn, ending with row 10.
Bind off.
Add fringe if that appeals to you.

For a lacier effect (or if you're running out of time), use bigger needles, and cast on fewer stitches. Just make sure you use an odd number.
