Here is a pattern for a sweater for a cabbage patch doll. It is my own pattern. I made these for my son and daughter's cabbage patch dolls (all four of them, My son is going to be 20 and his dolls still wear those sweaters even though he no longer plays with them).
Suggestions I would make to improve this pattern:
Knit in the round if possible.
Also knit the neck on a size larger needles ... I seem to recall it
being a tight fit.
Pattern:
Back: (make 2nd one for front)
Cast on 30 sts on #8 needles. Rib in K1, P1 for 5 rows.
St st for 20 rows (or length desired to armhole)
Bind off 2 sts at beginning of next 2 rows.
Dec 1 st each end on every K row until 14 sts remain.
Place on holder. (this is about 25 rows including ribbing)
Sleeves:
Cast on 18 sts, K1, P1 for 5 rows.
K next row, Increasing 1 st each end
Purl next row,
K next row, increasing 1 st each end .
Continue in St st until sleeve is 25 rows long (including the ribbing)
Bind off 2 sts at beginning of next 2 rows.
Dec 1 st each end on every K row until 6 sts remain.
Place sts on holder
Sew pieces together and pick up sts from holders and do neck ribbing (K1, P1) for length desired.
