Dresser Scarf

Cast on about 80 stitches using size 10 bedspread cotton and size two needles.  The number of stitches you cast on could vary according to the width of the dresser.  Just be sure to keep it an even number of stitches.

Knit ten rows. This is the bottom border

Pattern:
Keeping first and last ten stitches in garter stitch, purl one row and knit one row for ten rows.

On the next ten rows, always keeping first and last ten stitches in garter stitch, knit one row and purl one row.  Keep repeating these twenty rows until the dresser scarf is almost the length you wish.  Then knit the last ten rows for top border and bind off.

The borders can also be done in seed stitch.
